LET GO AND LET GOD
Anchor Scriptures:
Ephesians 4:20–27
Psalm 34:12–18
Romans 2:13
One of the greatest hindrances to experiencing God’s best is holding on to the very things He has asked us to release. God cannot fully lead a heart that refuses to let go. The journey to victory begins with surrender.
“Let Go and Let God” is a call to abandon old patterns, sinful habits, destructive attitudes and fleshly desires, allowing the Holy Spirit to take complete control of our lives.
In Ephesians 4:20–27 Paul reminds believers to put off the old self and be renewed in the spirit of their minds. Salvation is not just a change of confession; it is a change of lifestyle. We must intentionally lay aside everything that gives the devil a foothold.
Psalm 34:12–18 teaches us that if we desire a life filled with God’s goodness, we must guard our words, depart from evil, pursue peace and walk in righteousness. The Lord is close to those who humble themselves before Him.
Romans 2:13 reminds us that it is not enough to hear God’s Word, we must obey it. Transformation comes through doing, not merely listening.
IDENTIFY THE OLD HABITS
Ask yourself:
What habits keep drawing me away from God?
What attitudes grieve the Holy Spirit?
What relationships, addictions, bitterness, unforgiveness, pride, anger, gossip or immoral practices must I surrender?
Freedom begins with honest self-examination.
Every habit survives because it is continually fed. Whatever you nourish becomes stronger.
Stop feeding anger with revenge.
Stop feeding lust with ungodly content.
Stop feeding fear with negative thoughts.
Stop feeding bitterness by replaying past hurts.
Feed your spirit with God’s Word, prayer, worship, and fellowship instead.
When you stop feeding the flesh, its influence begins to weaken and the Holy Spirit gains greater expression in your life.
LET GOD TAKE OVER
Release every burden, every painful memory, every disappointment and every struggle into God’s hands. Trust His wisdom more than your feelings. Obey His Word even when it is difficult. As you let go, God will replace your weakness with His strength, your confusion with His peace and your bondage with His freedom.
DECLARATION
Today, I choose to let go of every old habit, every sinful desire and every weight that hinders my walk with God. I refuse to feed the flesh and I yield completely to the Holy Spirit. My life reflects Christ, my heart is renewed daily and I walk in obedience, righteousness, and victory in Jesus’ Name…Amen.
