Righteousness

Hebrews 1:9 says that “Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows” (KJV). In order to pray effectively as elders, we must be elders in righteousness. Friendship with the world is enmity with God (1 John 2:15-17). If you want to be anointed, close your eyes to anything that is not of God or that appears like evil. Abstain from it, and live a righteous life, do not indulge yourself. You cannot afford to play with your calling as an elder or pretend that you are still a youth.
